New front loading washing machines have two to four long bolts at the back that lock the drum for transport. If they are left in, the machine will shake violently, make a loud noise and can be damaged.
Steps
- Look at the back of the machine for the large bolts with plastic or rubber spacers. Your manual shows how many there are.
- Use the supplied spanner or a suitable one to unscrew each bolt and pull it out, with its spacer.
- Fit the plastic caps that came with the machine into the holes, to keep the cabinet sealed.
- Keep the bolts. If you move house or transport the machine, they must be refitted.
